TITLE: Retail Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to manage and oversee day-to-day operational activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting staff, allocating duties, and monitoring employee performance to ensure high standards are maintained.
You will work closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive accurate and up-to-date information on products, promotions, and related services. The role also involves maintaining appropriate stock levels, overseeing effective stock control procedures, and ensuring smooth inventory management.
Key responsibilities include handling customer enquiries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution. You will supervise the maintenance of financial records and documentation, authorise payments for received supplies, and contribute to setting product pricing, discount structures, and credit terms.
In addition, you will assess the quality of merchandise and ensure the effective use of advertising, marketing, and in-store displays to maximise sales and enhance customer engagement.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably within a retail, sales, or customer-facing environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, train, motivate, and manage staff effectively
• Experience in task allocation, performance monitoring, and conducting staff reviews
• Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to handle complaints and resolve issues professionally
• Sound knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and ordering processes
• Experience in managing financial records, authorising payments, and maintaining accurate documentation
• Ability to contribute to pricing strategies, discounts, and credit terms
• Good understanding of merchandising, product quality assessment, and sales optimisation techniques
• Experience in advertising, marketing, and use of display facilities to drive sales
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
• Good organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment

Weekly Hours: 37.5
Salary: £32,000 per annum
